SetToBuild, also known as Jonny, has been part of the AFOL community for almost 20 years. While his oldest interactions with the AFOL community have been online, his involvement became more serious when he started attending meetings for his local RLUG in Sacramento, California in 2011. After some time, the Sacramento Brick Builders found themselves in a transition of leadership. He was elected president and served as Ambassador for over a year.
SetToBuild explored streaming on Twitch after graduating from college in 2015. Before starting his LEGO building channel in 2016, he briefly streamed Minecraft on another account. Initially, he exclusively built LEGO sets on stream, but with encouragement from his community and a lot of practice, he started exploring MOC building on stream.
To practice building with prompts, SetToBuild created custom minifigure portraits for anyone who followed the channel. There were a few questions asked of the viewer like their favorite LEGO theme and color. This project went from 2016 to 2020 and ended up with over 700 figures!
